It's that time of year!!

My favorite time of year...when you walk through the aisles of Target and see the red and yellow signs pointing you to the school supplies department! Numerous crayons, markers, pencils, pens, rulers, notebooks, bags, erasers, and binders just waiting to be picked up and purchased. I have way too much fun with these things. Maybe that's why I'm a teacher. I'm a sucker for these back to school sales. I see fliers and I feel the urge to just spend spend spend. Not that I need new markers or crayons. I actually cleaned out a whole drawer full of markers and crayons the other day from previous years of Target splurges. I really haven't used any of them yet. Maybe I'll splurge on a few different school supplies this year. Maybe crates and bean bag chairs?

And paint. :) The past few days I've been busy in my classroom. I can't wait to get it all set up and ready for the new school year. Step one was completed today- painting my room. I am so happy with it! After debating the colors for a few days, I finally settled on one and am very happy- Pistachio Ice Cream. Sounds yummy! Jared helped me out by taking down the white boards, bulletin boards and moving everything to the middle of the room. Then Dad and Mom came over and helped us trip and roll and in a few hours, we had the first coat on. Jared and I went back this morning to see if it needed a second coat...of course it did. We got that on this morning and still had enough time to get the room situated back to how it was...for the most part.

Here were the first two color choices that we put up and then decided were way too saturated in color for such an enclosed room (no windows!). We decided to go down a few shades.

Do I have too much stuff?

Here's the finished product...well, at least the walls. The room is still in quite the haphazard state.
I'm so excited to get the room set up and have it feel like home. I'm hoping to add a few plants (that need no sunlight) and rugs to liven it up a little. Only a few more weeks!
